We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to ensure the quality, safety, and legality of our fresh produce, ensuring it meets agreed specifications before being dispatched to customers.As a Quality Assessor, you will report to the Head of Technical and play a crucial role in fresh produce quality assessment. You will be responsible for conducting thorough quality checks, assessing products for safety and legality, and ensuring they comply with food industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDiligently assess the quality, safety, and legality of fresh produce based on agreed specifications. Perform quality control assessments, using handheld devices to report and classify findings accurately. Collaborate with the warehouse team to meet task and time goals. Maintain effective communication with team members across different shifts to ensure smooth operations. Adapt to the needs of the business and work efficiently to meet operational requirements.What Were Looking ForExperience in fresh produce quality assessment or food quality control. Knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, food labelling, and third-party accreditation standards. Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive environment and under pressure. Strong communication skills to liaise with team members and supervisors at all levels. Familiarity with quality control procedures and an understanding of food legislation. A self-motivated individual capable of working independently and within a team. Flexible and calm under pressure, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of quality attributes specific to fresh produce or broader food quality attributes.
