Ali & Co.Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.Solicitors is a dynamic and forward thinking law firm.We pride ourselves on providing a stellar service to our clients and a nurturing environment for our staff to develop and grow.We are recruiting legal staff with all areas of experience in Asylum and Immigration law from second year trainee onwards, to fill multiple positions.We offer a competitive salary with a review after 6 momths.The ideal candidates will have experience of Advice and Assistance legal aid.As an asylum and immigration solicitor you will be working alongside colleagues who have a range of skills and experience.The workload is varied, with cases across the spectrum of asylum and immigration work.We work closely with clients, experts and counsel as required and act for clients in courts across Scotland.The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with a positive attitude and flexible approach towards the implementation of new processes.They will be keen to learn and continue to develop professionally.Responsibilities: Managing own caseload of asylum and immigration matters Attending and appearing at Immigration Tribunal hearings and instructing counsel in the Court of Session Corresponding with clients, other solicitors, interpreters as well as counsel and experts where appropriate Working as part of a team to ensure the best results for our clients Providing support to others within the department where appropriate Supporting business development within the department Working to reach department KPIs & targets Key Attributes: Any level of experience in asylum and immigration law Understanding of the appropriate legal procedures and processes Experience in pursing all types of asylum and immigration matters from start to finish Good knowledge of SLAB requirements Tribunal advocacy experience Excellent relationship and client handling skills Strong work ethic and team player Strong communication and organisation skills Please contact Sidra Ali directly by email to s.ali@ali-legal.co.uk.All applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
