Market Risk Manager Energy & Carbon Location: Flexible (with occasional travel to UK sites) Full-time | Competitive Salary Benefits Here at enfinium we are looking for a Market Risk Manager who truly understands the UK electricity and carbon markets someone who lives and breathes power trading, risk management, and market strategy.Check you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.Reporting to the Commercial Director Energy & Carbon, youll take the lead on energy market risk and revenue strategy across a growing portfolio of high-efficiency energy-from-waste facilities (currently four operational sites, expanding to six).This is not a back-office role its about being in the market , shaping our trading and risk management strategies, managing critical revenue streams, and guiding commercial decisions with confidence and precision.What Youll Be Doing: Owning the power sales and hedging strategy across our portfolio.Executing trades and managing market risk with a hands-on, analytical approach.Leading Route-to-Market contract management and maintaining strong relationships with counterparties offering financial derivatives.Managing applications and compliance for the Capacity Market and Contracts for Difference (CfD) schemes.Supporting the commercial development of Carbon Capture and Storage, private wire, corporate Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs) and other revenue-generating opportunities.Serving as our in-house expert on the UK energy market , with direct relationships with Ofgem, DESNZ, and other key bodies.Developing and implementing carbon price risk management strategy across our portfolio in preparation for inclusion into the UK ETS Who You Are: A markets specialist with direct experience in power trading, market risk management, or hedging .Deeply knowledgeable about the UK electricity and carbon markets , with strong industry relationships.Experienced in front-office roles and confident making commercial calls that impact the bottom line.Comfortable with complexity, and capable of simplifying risk into action.A credible communicator with senior stakeholders and Board-level audiences.Skilled with tools like Refinitiv Workspace, Bloomberg , and CTRM/ETRM systems (a plus, not essential).What Youll Bring: Minimum 5 years experience in a front office power market position A degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or similar .Strong analytical and commercial acumen.Experience with offtake contracts, corporate PPAs , and monetising energy assets.The drive to take ownership and work independently with minimal supervision.A collaborative, ethical, and proactive approach to commercial leadership.Who are enfinium? enfinium is one of the largest pure-play waste to energy operators in the U.K.who transform waste into heat and energy that power our homes businesses, green communities and the circular economy.With more than 45 years of proven industry experience.enfinium has four operating facilities around the U.K and a further two facilities in construction and are transforming the way our industry serves customers, communities and the environment.At enfinium were guided by five principles, we use these to make sure were not only doing a great job, but were doing it in the right and safe way: One Team- Pride Matters- Safety on Purpose- Make a positive impact- Take Ownership As a Company, we really value our employees and as such, offer a generous employee benefits package which includes the following: Vitality Private Medical care Private Dental Care Life Assurance Company pension with a 6% company contribution Cycle to Work scheme Employee Assistance programme Uniform provided Continuous learning and development through our e-learning portal and access to role-based qualifications
