Associate Director Cost Management Location: Birmingham Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time Flexible Working: Yes The Role This is a senior-level opportunity for a chartered cost professional to lead the delivery of high-quality commercial outcomes across infrastructure projects.Is this the role you are looking for If so read on for more details, and make sure to apply today.Youll provide expert cost and commercial advice across all stages of a project lifecycle from early-stage estimates and procurement strategy through to final account and post-contract cost management.Youll also contribute to business development, mentor and lead junior team members, and support the ongoing evolution of the teams digital and delivery capabilities.Key Responsibilities Lead pre- and post-contract cost management across infrastructure and public sector projects Provide strategic procurement and estimating input at feasibility and design stages Assure cost governance and compliance with internal and client procedures Oversee preparation of contract documents, cost plans, and tender evaluations Contribute to bids and proposals to support business development Build and maintain client relationships, acting as a key commercial advisor Mentor and develop junior team members, promoting best practice and collaboration Support wider business initiatives across digital, sustainability, and innovation Youll Need: MRICS (or equivalent) Strong pre- and post-contract cost management experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects Prior experience within a consultancy environment is strongly preferred Demonstrated leadership in commercial delivery and client engagement Experience using digital tools such as CostX or CEMAR Working knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities Flexibility to travel to client sites and regional offices as required Desirable: Experience in emerging sectors such as water, energy or net zero infrastructure Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline Professional membership of CICES, ACostE or similar (if not MRICS) How to Apply If this role sounds like a good match for your next move, feel free to apply below or pass it on to someone in your network who might be interested.
