Full time office-based role Our professional client is seeking a Senior Accounts Assistant to support the Operations Manager of a small well-established business. Working closely with 2 other team members you will take responsibility for ensuring all accounting functions run smoothly and compliance deadlines are met. Your role: Posting day-to-day bookkeeping entries on sales and purchase ledger Assisting in the production of accurate data for the monthly management accounts Performing weekly bank reconciliations for internal review Carrying out credit control function Acting as a key point of contact for customer and supplier financial queries Supporting month-end routines and timetable Assisting in preparing quarterly VAT returns Assisting with monthly CIS returns Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies Liaising with accountancy colleagues at Head Office The person: 3+ years of experience in a similar role. Strong grasp of bookkeeping principles and double-entry accounting Proficiency in accounting software: including Xero and strong Excel skills AAT qualified, or part-qualified ACCA/ACA (or equivalent experience) - preferred High attention to detail and excellent time management Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to liaise directly with customers on the phone A proactive, organised approach and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Happy working in a SME business as part of a small team Flexible attitude Able to easily commute to Hurst TPBN1_UKTJ
