DESIGN MANAGER REQUIRED ON PERMANENT BASIS IN WEST MIDLANDS FOR A MAIN CONTRACTORI am assisting my client with an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to join a leading main contractor. The business undertakes projects in various sectors, including Commercial, Education and Defence, with values ranging between £10m and £50m.As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing projects to ensure their safe completion, in accordance with programme, specification, and budget.Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + PackageKey Responsibilities:Oversee design processes during pre-construction and, when necessary, construction phases. Analyse and interpret the Employer's Requirements documents. Collaborate with internal teams to develop comprehensive Contractor Proposals.Coordinate and supervise external design consultantsImplement innovative and cost-effective design solutions.Ensure timely delivery of design information and resolve issues within strict deadlines.Participate in tender launches, adjudications, and project initiation meetings as neededIdeal Candidate Profile - We're seeking a Design Manager with:Proven experience in managing complex, high-value design projects from a main contractor's perspective.Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple workloads effectively.In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission processes.A keen sense of commercial awareness.Familiarity with various client procurement methods.Preferably, experience with on-site operations and contract procedures.This role is ideal for professionals who excel in coordinating intricate design processes, driving innovation, and ensuring project success within the construction industry.If you are a Design Manager and are open to an initial chat please do not hesitate to reach out.
