Highways Estimator Location: Norfolk (Full-time, office-based) Salary: 50,000 80,000 DOE Contract Type: Permanent The Role Were working with a leading civil engineering and infrastructure business in Norfolk thats looking to expand its pre-construction team with a talented Highways Estimator .You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply.This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced estimator to work on a diverse range of highway construction and maintenance projectsfrom small civils to major capital works.Youll play a key role in producing accurate and competitive cost estimates, contributing to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure across the region.What Youll Be Doing Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing strategies for highways and infrastructure projects.Analyse technical drawings and specifications to build comprehensive tenders.Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing.Identify risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions during the pre-construction phase.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to align pricing with delivery expectations.Attend pre-tender and client meetings as needed.Ensure all estimates meet industry standards and company protocols.Maintain historical data to improve accuracy and forecasting for future bids.Support the handover of successful tenders to delivery teams.What Youll Bring 5 years experience in estimating within highways or civil engineering.Excellent working knowledge of highway construction methods, materials, and relevant legislation.Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.Ability to interpret technical drawings and project documentation.Effective communication skillsboth written and verbal.Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar (preferred).Familiarity with estimating software such as Causeway, Candy, or similar.Membership of a professional body such as ICE, RICS or CIHT is desirable.Whats On Offer Salary between 50,000 80,000, depending on experience Company pension scheme Flexible working options Ongoing training and professional development support Company car Ready to Make Your Next Move?
