Brockenhurst College are seeking a part-time, term time only permanent Student Services Adviser / Administrator. Required Monday to Thursday mornings and 7 hours on Friday. This forward-facing post has a competitive salary of 23,556 per annum pro rata and the opportunity to join a local government pension scheme. You will provide a high standard of friendly and welcoming customer service and administrative support at our Marchwood Skills Centre. For this role, as a Student Services Adviser/Administrator, you will provide efficient and effective customer service and clerical support for our Marchwood Skills Centre. Responsibilities as our Student Services Adviser / Administrator include: Dealing with telephone, face to face, email, and postal enquiries effectively in a welcoming and professional manner. Provide high quality customer service to assist students, staff and visitors, whether by telephone, email or in person. Ensure that the reception and office areas are well stocked with current and relevant information and kept tidy. Provide administration support for student work placements. Support the exam process and invigilate when required. Provide clerical support for the main admin team, including special projects, liaising with and assisting staff, tutors, students, volunteers, outside organisations etc. Assist with college events at the Marchwood Skills Centre. Assist with the preparation of notices, posters etc. and the setting up of displays. Undertake general office duties, to include filing, distribution of incoming and preparation of outgoing mail. Communicating with other departments to ensure the safety of visitors and the high maintenance of the College and its grounds. Assist the Attendance Team as and when necessary. Attend and participate at training events and staff meetings, as required. Any other such duties, commensurate with the grade of post, which may be reasonably allocated. The ideal Student Services Adviser/Administrator will need: A minimum of two years' experience in an office environment, interacting with the general public. Experience of assisting a range of different people with diverse needs. GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent). Competent computer skills able to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet for information retrieval. Able to demonstrate customer care skills. Ability to work well as part of a team. Ability to build a rapport with customers of all kinds. Excellent communication skills. Able to work under pressure and prioritise appropriately.
