Job Opportunity: Consultant in Acute MedicineThe Division of Medicine is seeking to fill a vacancy within the Acute Medicine team to enhance consultant capacity. The position is full-time on a 10 PA contract, with consideration for less than full-time. Candidates with a ‘special’ interest, as defined by the Acute Internal Medicine curriculum or dual CCT, will be considered. The Trust operates across two Acute sites, each hosting Acute Medical services. The Calderdale Hospital site includes the Acute Stroke unit, specialist Cardiology and Respiratory wards, while Huddersfield hosts specialist Gastroenterology, Oncology/Haematology wards, Frailty, and Care of the Elderly services. The successful applicant will join our Acute Medical Consultant team, providing services across both Trust sites. Responsibilities include covering the two Acute Floors, Short Stay/outlying wards, Medical Same Day Emergency Care (MSDEC) unit, and Emergency Departments (Admission Avoidance). Applicants must be on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register and hold a License to Practice. All candidates must meet these criteria to be considered for a consultant role by the Advisory Appointments Committee.
