Amber Therapeutics are looking for a diligent and organised part-time Finance Assistant to join our growing team in a brand-new role. You will work 15 hours per week ideally 3 hours per day, 5 days per week (though we can offer some flexibility). If you're someone who is detail-orientated, thrives on precision and likes the sound of supporting a small finance function with real impact this could be your next move. This is a hybrid role (Tuesday Thursday onsite) working at our new custom-built site in Harwell, Oxfordshire when the site opens in early July 2025, and will involve working remotely until then. Amber is a pioneering neuromodulation company dedicated to transforming the lives of patients through advanced medical technology. The Role Youll be supporting the Finance Manager with a range of tasks including processing invoices, expense reconciliations, supplier communication and supporting with VAT returns. Key Responsibilities: Process invoices, expenses, and purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations. Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding payment queries and discrepancies. Maintain accurate financial records for all transactions. Support VAT returns and other tax-related matters. Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Liaise with internal teams and assist with queries. Handle ad hoc finance tasks and projects as required. Skills & Experience Previous experience in a finance or accounts role is essential. Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of UK financial regulations and compliance requirements is advantageous. The ideal candidate will be proactive and detail-focused with previous experience in a finance or accounts setting. This is a hands-on role where accuracy, organisation and communication are key.
