Join us and be part of a team that is committed to delivering great results, driving innovation, and shaping the future of retail.What you'll doAs an Assistant Sourcing Merchandiser at Sainsbury's Argos, your role will be pivotal in supporting the identification, development, and account management of optimal sourcing opportunities for General Merchandise across our brands. Working closely with the Sourcing Manager, you will contribute to implementing the department strategy and delivering key performance indicators. This will involve ensuring a robust supply base that aligns with our Global Sourcing Strategy and meets our ethical and technical standards. You will support the entire sourcing process, from supplier engagement to supplier set up, while maintaining commercial awareness of market trends. Additionally, you will play a vital role in tracking product development, maintaining quotation records, and facilitating price negotiations with suppliers to achieve margin objectives. Furthermore, you will support the order management process, establish effective communication with colleagues and suppliers, and actively contribute to the success of the team by demonstrating strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.Who you areAs an Assistant Sourcing Merchandiser at Sainsbury's Argos, you are a highly motivated and skilled professional with excellent communication and negotiation abilities. With your experience in a commercial role within the retail industry, you bring a strong understanding of market trends and commercial awareness to support the identification and development of optimal sourcing opportunities across multiple brands. Your numeracy and analytical skills, along with proficiency in Excel, enable you to analyse data and contribute to achieving commercial objectives. With a keen eye for organisation and adherence to operational procedures, you deliver great results and proactively identify solutions.
