The OpportunityOur client, a leading civil contractor, is expanding and seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to provide engineering support and quality control for construction works, including maintaining appropriate records. The role involves supporting project compliance and assisting the team to ensure safety and quality standards are met. Your duties and responsibilities will includeCollaborating with the Commercial department to provide measurement data. Working with the Project Team and subcontractors to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements. Maintaining knowledge of project specifications to ensure compliance. Producing permits, task briefs, and documentation for approval and briefing before work begins. Contributing to the 3-week construction programme and executing works accordingly. Providing accurate setting out for works based on latest design information. Supporting temporary works development and ensuring compliance with approved designs. Undertaking other duties as defined in the Project IMS plan or by the Site Agent. Supporting the development of junior staff through engagement and feedback. Ensuring project compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, reporting incidents as needed. Conducting inspections, maintaining quality records, and raising NCRs for non-conformances. Identifying and reporting design issues for resolution. Ensuring documentation and records are uploaded correctly to project systems. Maintaining accurate site diaries and records of work progress and issues. Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in a relevant civil engineering discipline. Basic knowledge of construction techniques and industry practices. Understanding of project processes through induction or experience. Good appreciation of commercial and contractual aspects. Preferred Additional SkillsExperience working on-site or in an office with a contractor. Geology, mining, or quarrying coursework or experience is advantageous.
