Youll run and grow a range of inclusive activities for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including:Afterschool Clubs (MonThurs)Weekend and School Holiday Play & Teen SessionsEvening Youth GroupsYoull plan and deliver fun, structured sessions in a safe, supportive environment. Youll also support staff, ensure high-quality service, and advocate for the rights of disabled and autistic young people.This is a full time role (37.5 hours a week) working weekdays with one Saturday fortnightly (with a day off in the week).Main ResponsibilitiesPlanning & OrganisationWork with the Team Leader to manage bookings and session places.Ensure all staffing needs are met by working with the Recruitment & Retention Manager.Create fun, engaging session plans and support Group Leaders to deliver them.Buy needed supplies (toys, craft materials, etc.) within the agreed budget.Keep childrens profiles up to date (e.g. medical or behaviour plans).Make sure the CRM system is current with session feedback and notes.Maintain strong communication with parents, carers, schools, and professionals.Spot training needs and ensure all staff complete inductions and training on time.Work with the Office Manager to keep spaces clean, safe, and well maintained.Share success stories and session highlights with the Marketing team (with consent).Session Delivery & QualityLead the delivery of all sessions, making sure they are fun, inclusive, and suitable for different ages and needs.Guide and support staff during sessions, especially around behaviour and inclusion.Help children and young people build independence and life skills.Pitch in with hands-on support where needed (e.g. personal care, mobility, emotional support).Help plan snacks/meals and ensure food hygiene rules are followed.Keep spaces clean and ready for the next session.Track the impact of sessions and help measure progress.Always follow safeguarding policies and keep childrens safety a top priority.Key Skills and Qualifications Required:Proven experience running group activities for children or young people with SEND or learning disabilities, either in play or education settingsLevel 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a similar fieldAble to plan fun, inclusive sessions and think creatively with the resources availableConfident using basic IT systems like databases, booking platforms, and HR toolsKind, understanding, and stays calm under pressureExperience supporting children and young people who show challenging behaviour, and knowledge of how to safely manage and de-escalate situationsAble to guide and support team members to do their best workFriendly and confident talking to parents, carers, and professionalsWorks well with others and helps maintain a positive, team-focused environmentFlexible and willing to attend training or meetings outside regular hours when neededUnderstands how to report incidents properly and follow safeguarding rulesThank you for taking the time to apply to OPR Resourcing Specialists.
