Your technical leadership will help shape the direction of the firms fire engineering capabilities, with clear progression into management or expert consultancy tracks.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive fire risk assessments and structural fire safety strategies across a broad portfolio of buildings, including high-risk and high-rise structuresCollaborate closely with structural engineers, architects, and multidisciplinary design teams to integrate fire safety into structural design and material selectionProvide technical oversight and peer review of fire engineering analysis, including fire resistance calculations, performance-based design, and structural fire impact assessmentsRepresent the firm in technical discussions with clients, approving authorities, and insurers, providing robust justification for design decisionsMentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learningContribute to project risk reviews, advising on fire-related construction risks and mitigation strategiesConduct site inspections and support construction-phase fire safety validation and structural interface coordinationPrepare and deliver detailed technical reports, fire strategies, and risk assessments in line with UK Building Regulations (Approved Document B), BS 9999, BS 7974, and international best practicesRequired Experience & Skills:Minimum 5+ years experience in fire engineering, with demonstrable experience in structural fire assessments and performance-based designStrong command of UK Building Regulations, BS 9999, BS 7974 methodologies, and experience in liaising with regulatory bodiesExpertise in fire risk assessment, including probabilistic and deterministic approaches, and passive/active fire protection strategiesFamiliarity with Eurocode Part 1-2, structural materials under fire exposure, and structural fire modelingProficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office; experience with Revit, FDS, SAFIR, or similar structural/fire analysis tools is a strong plusConfident communicator with experience presenting complex technical information to clients, insurers, and approval authoritiesAble to lead multiple projects and teams with minimal supervision in a high-performance, collaborative environmentWhats on Offer:140,000 - 150,000 salary based on seniority and technical leadershipFlexible, hybrid working model with a London-based officePerformance-related bonuses and expense reimbursementsSignificant autonomy and leadership within a growing fire engineering divisionFast-track opportunities to principal, associate, or director-level rolesSupportive, innovation-led culture with investment in CPD and advanced modelling toolsTPBN1_UKTJ
