The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for structural steel projects. This role requires a deep understanding of structural steelwork, materials, and labour costs, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.Key ResponsibilitiesReview project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects.Analyse design proposals and related documents to identify potential challenges and opportunities for cost savings.Collaborate with clients, project managers, engineers, and architects to clarify project requirements and specifications.Prepare and maintain a comprehensive database of costs for materials, labour and equipment related to structural steel projects.Produce detailed bid proposals, including itemized costs and project timelines.Conduct site appraisals to assess existing conditions and gather information for accurate cost inclusions.Monitor and update estimates as needed throughout the project lifecycle.Assist in negotiations with clients and principle contractors as necessary to secure projects.Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance estimation accuracy and competitiveness.QualificationsProven experience as an Estimator in the structural steel industry or related fields is essential for this role.
