We're currently seeking a Senior Estimator who shares our commitment to quality, service, and environmental improvement.Role overview:To support growth plans, prepare and produce accurate cost estimates from receipt of tender enquiry to tender settlement stage to achieve the company business targets.Key Responsibilities:Deliver the estimating process ensuring work is undertaken to commercial & qualitative performance standardsProvide estimating advice & commercial support to the Bid team, regeneration and business wideReview opportunities to strengthen the bid process taking advantage of any competitive edgeTake ownership for the timely processing of sub-contractor enquiriesNegotiate sub-contractors quotations and produce competitive costs for packages where quotations are requiredIn conjunction with the divisional managers review supply chain performance and take any action required regarding discrepanciesEnsure the tender risks in relation to all contracts are correctly identified and accounted for, and review lost tenders to see why, how and where improvements can be madeDevelop and implement the competent use of data spreadsheets and databases to maximise the efficient sourcing and collection of dataMeasurement and preparation of accurate quantities from tender documents to ensure maximum competitive edge with a view to maximising tender successEnsure that a consistent internal tender settlement / reconciliation report and handover process is implemented, and that pricing levels, margin and risk meet the approved business strategyDevelop and maintain pricing masters by analysing and summarising estimating information trendsAlongside the Commercial teams - contribute to the post project commercial review / reconciliationResponsible for tender estimates / price build-up across the divisional work streams.Skills/Experience essential:Experience of estimating for a main contractor in the construction or energy industryExperience of managing and prioritising own workload whilst working under pressureJCT Form of Contract: D&B, Minor Works, etc.Schedules of rates, specifications and drawingsBills of quantities, cost value reconciliation frameworksProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Packages -Excel, WordDriving licenceSkills/Experience desirable:Experience of working in the Energy Services / Social Housing sectorsExperience of maintenance contractsNEC Contract (Various Options)Computerised estimating packagesNHF S.O.RWhat we Offer:Salary 45k-55kEmployer contributed pension schemeEmployee Assistance Programme with 24 hours telephone and online access32 days annual leave (Inc. bank holidays, Christmas & New Year Closure!)Sureserve Group Legends scheme, with a reward for the ultimate legend!Employee engagement events to bring together colleagues and familiesAccess to Flexible Benefits SchemeSureserve is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
