This role plays a key part in assessing project costs for home adaptations that help vulnerable individuals live safely and independently in their homes. You will work closely with surveyors, occupational therapists, contract managers, and local authorities to provide accurate and competitive costings.Key Responsibilities:Prepare accurate estimates and costings for adaptation works under the DFG schemeUse a set schedule of rates to price jobsReview architectural drawings, OT reports, and site surveys to determine project scopeLiaise with surveyors and technical teams to gather project-specific informationWork collaboratively with procurement and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricingEnsure costings comply with contractual requirements and local authority frameworksSupport tendering processes and prepare submissions as requiredIdentify cost-saving opportunities and flag potential risks to the commercial teamMaintain records of pricing, cost breakdowns, and assumptionsAttend site visits where required to support the estimating processProvide support on variations, value engineering, and post-tender clarificationsKey Requirements:Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction or adaptations sectorKnowledge of DFG works, Part M, and other relevant building regs is highly desirableStrong understanding of specifications, drawings, and scopes of workExcellent numeracy, attention to detail, and analytical skillsProficiency in estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Conquest, Excel)Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimations simultaneouslyGood communication skills, both written and verbalFull UK driving licence (site visits may be required)Desirable Qualifications:HNC / HND / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similarExperience working with local authorities or social housing providersFamiliarity with adaptations for mobility, access, and disability-related needsIf you would like to know more details on the role please call Deanna on 01213621500 or alternativly email onTPBN1_UKTJ
