Business Development Manager Preclinical CRO Services Location: Hybrid Home-based with access to Bedfordshire site Ideal for candidates within commutable distance (e.g., Beds, Cambs, Northants, Herts) Company Overview: Our client is a scientifically driven Contract Research Organization (CRO) offering preclinical in vivo and in vitro services across a range of therapeutic areas.Do not pass up this chance, apply quickly if your experience and skills match what is in the following description.With a commitment to quality science and tailored client engagement, they support biotech and pharmaceutical organisations at critical stages of the drug development lifecycle.Role Overview: We are seeking a scientifically literate and commercially astute Business Development Manager to lead sales and client engagement across the UK and Europe.This person will play a pivotal role in expanding the client base and deepening relationships across biotech, pharma, and academic sectors, aligning the companys services with drug discovery needs across a variety of therapeutic indications, including oncology, immunology, metabolic disease, CNS, and others.Key Responsibilities: Develop and grow a portfolio of clients engaged in early-stage preclinical drug discovery Understand and align client needs with the companys in vivo efficacy models, in vitro capabilities, and bespoke study design services Manage the full business development cycle from lead generation to proposal writing and contract negotiation Collaborate closely with internal scientific and operational teams to ensure accurate project scoping and delivery Represent the company at industry events and scientific conferences to promote services and generate new business opportunities Provide feedback from the market to inform future commercial strategy and service offering evolution Maintain pipeline visibility and accuracy through use of CRM systems and regular reporting Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven success in selling preclinical or early discovery CRO services, ideally within multiple therapeutic areas Scientific background (BSc/MSc/PhD in life sciences); ability to confidently converse with technical stakeholders Skilled in consultative sales and experienced in managing complex, multi-stakeholder decision-making processes Knowledge of drug discovery workflows and the ability to discuss preclinical model selection, study design, and assay relevance Comfortable with hybrid working, client travel, and cross-functional collaboration Entrepreneurial mindset; self-motivated, accountable, and outcome-oriented Salary & Benefits: Competitive base salary commission Benefits package including pension, holiday, and flexible working options Opportunity to work with an innovative and respected preclinical CRO team with room to grow
