About the RoleThe Finance Manager will lead a small, high-performing finance team and take ownership of day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, ledgers, management accounts, and cash flow. This pivotal role is responsible for driving process improvements and providing key financial insights to support business growth and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly management accounts with detailed analysisManage and mentor a small finance team (payroll, sales & purchase ledger)Oversee balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and journalsMonitor and forecast cash flow, identifying variances and trendsStreamline and automate finance processes for efficiency and accuracySupport annual budgeting and forecasting cyclesCollaborate with internal teams (operations, software, leasing) to provide financial guidanceEnsure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirementsSupport external audit and statutory reporting processesHandle internal stakeholder queries relating to financeOversee monthly employed payroll and subcontractor paymentsAbout YouEssential:Proven experience in management accounting or a similar finance roleExperience leading or mentoring a finance teamStrong Excel and finance systems skills (Sage, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)Excellent analytical and communication skillsDetail-oriented with strong organisational abilitiesAble to work independently and collaborativelyDesirable:Experience in a fast-paced SME, logistics, or multi-entity businessInvolvement in system implementation or change programmesLocation: Glasgow [Hybrid - 3 days onsite 2 days WFH]This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to make an impact in a dynamic, innovative logistics environment.
