Job Description: Trainee Negotiator Location: Greater Belfast (Hybrid) Department: Financial Services - Legal DocumentationOverviewMCS are delighted to be working exclusively with a fast-growing, boutique legal services provider to recruit several Trainee Negotiators for their office in Greater Belfast. This is a standout opportunity to launch your career in the financial legal services sector, working directly with international clients on complex trading contracts. No prior experience required - full training will be provided by industry experts.Key ResponsibilitiesContract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a range of trading agreements such as ISDA Master Agreements, repurchase and lending agreements.Regulatory Review: Ensure documentation aligns with key financial regulations.Client Communication: Engage directly with clients and counterparties to reach agreement on legal documentation.Risk Management: Identify legal and operational risks, ensuring all agreements reflect client risk policies.Record Keeping: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation to meet compliance and audit standards.Essential Skills and QualificationsA degree (or higher) in Law, STEM, Finance, or another analytical discipline.Exceptional attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication.Proactive and self-motivated with a collaborative approach.A genuine interest in financial services and legal documentation.Desirable AttributesExperience in contract drafting or financial/legal services (in-house or private practice).Understanding of market documentation such as ISDA, GMRA, or GMSLA.What's on OfferCompetitive salary and hybrid working structure.Firm-funded healthcare, wellbeing benefits, and cycle-to-work scheme.33 days annual leave, increasing with service.Personalised training and ongoing career development.Direct client exposure and hands-on experience from day one.
