The Energy Team supports the delivery of production tasks by generating Steam and Power for internal customers.What you'll do:Deliver safe, environmentally compliant and efficient operation of the plant, within operational parameters; ensuring compliance with management instructions, procedures and policies.Operation of the plant in order to deliver availability and reliability through investigations of fault conditions and incidents to achieve and exceed business KPIs.Accountable for the compliance of internal customer requirements.Monitoring and evaluation of the plants technical readings via the DCS, to manage changes to the process as required. Reporting any issues within the plant to the Work Group Leader.Accountable for effective work control, communicating with the maintenance team ensuring the safety of people at work on a daily basis.Actively promote a culture of safety, health and environmental (SHE) awareness adopting a continuous improvement policy in SHE performance. Ensure consistent and accurate completion of the Shift Log entries and defect entries via the CMMS.Support the identification and implementation of improvements to the plant performance with regards to SHE, commercial, availability and reliability.Proactively support the Maintenance Team during technical projects, and planned and reactive maintenance activities.Manage operational procedures, routines and reporting requirements to comply with current SHE policies.Through effective task area management demonstrate ownership of the plant area, being a plant area knowledge specialist and have accountability for that areas housekeeping.Support the Work Group Leader to provide effective management of all operational incidents, including assisting with RCAs.Participate and deliver operations training and development of new staff.Ability and willingness to enact the duties of Work Group Leader as and when required.What you'll bring:Sufficient, appropriate and relevant operations and/or engineering and maintenance experience within a similar role and/or process industry. Technical capability to learn and understand all areas of the Energy department (CHP, Biomass Boiler and WTP).A good understand of the Field Operator duties and requirements.Willing to embrace change and challenge processes to improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of the site/company.Experience of operating within safety, environment and operational polices, standards, frameworks and statutory legislation.A proven ability to identify and analyse situations by isolating key issues, evaluating relevant data and drawing appropriate conclusions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with site teams, and deal with key internal/external stakeholders, external organisations. Financial and commercial awareness associated with the activities of the role. Competence in safety assessment by producing such documents as risk assessments, method statements, manual handling, hot work assessments etc.A proactive approach to the role by clearly identifying practical and effective means of improving technical, commercial or procedural aspects related to the role.Be competent at communication and literacy, e.g. failure analysis, end of shift log, weekly feedback and improving operational safety and procedure documentation.A willingness to work 12 hour shifts on a shift rota and be flexible towards shift cover.Preferably an ONC/NVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline, and/or equivalent level of practical industrial experience.
