Graduate Technologist Exotic Fruit & Vegetables Location: Aston, Birmingham Salary: 27,000 30,000 (depending on experience) Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (Monday Friday, 08:00 17:00) About the Company We are a leading fresh produce business with a strong presence across the UK and Europe, sourcing from over 40 countries worldwide. About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated graduate to begin their career in the fresh produce industry. As a Graduate Technologist , you will be a key member of our Technical team, supporting the delivery of quality, safety, ethical and sustainability standards across our exotic fruit and vegetable supply chain. Youll gain hands-on experience working with UK retailers and global suppliers, with opportunities to travel both nationally and internationally to packhouses, farms, and supplier sites. Key Responsibilities Monitor product quality and seasonality to support procurement and sourcing decisions Maintain accurate and up-to-date supplier information and due diligence documentation Liaise with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, ethical and sustainability standards Prepare internal and external reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with business systems Support and participate in internal audits, and assist with global supplier audits Attend customer meetings to represent the technical function Manage supplier relationships, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement Maintain and update customer specifications and product data systems Act as a product specialist and assist with new product development Conduct product benchmarking and sample preparation Produce regular internal and external KPI reports Undertake additional duties as required Candidate Requirements A degree in Agriculture, Food, Fresh Produce, or a closely related scientific field is essential Previous experience in the fresh produce or food industry is highly desirable, whether through employment, placement, or internships Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems Exceptional communication skills , both written and verbal, with the confidence to interact with internal teams, suppliers, and customers A full, clean UK driving licence is preferred due to occasional UK and overseas travel What We Offer Full training and ongoing professional development Opportunities for UK and international travel Direct exposure to leading UK retailers and global supply chains A supportive environment to grow and develop your career in the fresh produce sector This is a brilliant opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented graduate to build a successful career in a dynamic and rewarding industry.
