We add value with our people, client service ethos, global delivery strategy, technical ability, and attitude.We now seek a fully experienced Mechanical Technical Director to join our London office.Role ResponsibilitiesTakes Team Management and leadership role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services. Assists the Directors with Business strategy and management.Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of project fee proposalsWorking closely with clients and project team to establish project requirementsReviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposesSurveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installationsFiscal and commercial management of projects to ensure they return the target marginLeadership and hands on delivery of monitoring of construction and installation on projectsLiaising with existing clients to establish long term relationships and future upcoming projectsLiaising with future client prospects and general business development.Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirementsRepresents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teamsCarries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standardsHands on involvement in local office management in conjunction with other members of the senior management teamSupport clients in tender and procurement of MEP contractors and MEP equipment.Leads on the coordination of engineering services, together with hands on delivery of concept and details designsEnsures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegationMentoring and development of younger members of the engineering teamProduction of technical white papers to promote the technical capabilities of RedHands on involvement in the sector management team in conjunction with other members of the teamSurveys and due diligence reports of existing data centresPresenting technical papers at industry events where the opportunity arisesTakes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutionsSupport the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.Role RequirementsBSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline/BEng General Building Services or have sufficient equivalent experienceMCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalentChartered Eng statusSignificant experience of specification design for a range of building typesExperience of having managed projects abroad (desirable)Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislationAppreciation & working knowledge of contract and business lawKnowledge of MS office applications word, excel etcFlexible and self-motivational approach to workAbility to use it based calculation and spreadsheet softwareGood understanding of bs standards/ UK regulations/codesExperience and understanding of invoicing and credit controlAbility to prioritise own workloadAbility to work to deadlinesPresentation skillsLeadership & mentoring skillsChairing/facilitation of meeting skillsBackground in consulting or construction preferred.Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines of the GroupBenefitsRED offers a variety of benefits, including but not limited to:23 days annual leave rising to 28 days annual leave over 5 years serviceHoliday purchase and buy back schemeHybrid WorkingContributory company pension schemeHealthcare Scheme via salary sacrifice (Company funded cover is dependant on level)Non-contractual bonus awardsTraining sponsorshipCharity volunteering leaveWellness days/ initiatives.Salary commensurate with experience.Our people work in friendly teams with a collaborative approach and mentoring support from talented leaders.We offer a comprehensive benefits package and are an equal opportunities employer.
