Assistant Manager | Castleton, Hope Valley | Full Time | 30,000 33,000 per year, based on a 5-day working week (weekends included) Our client is a 17th century coaching inn located in the heart of the Peak District National Forest. They are looking to recruit a hands-on Assistant Manager for their 10-bedroomed Pub, Cafe, and Restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the hospitality industry and a genuine passion for helping the business grow and develop. Please note This is not a live-in role you must live within 3045 minutes of Castleton and be able to drive (public transport is not an option) Are you the right person for the job? Proven experience in a bar, caf/restaurant, and cellar management Fully fluent in written and spoken English Comfortable working with a mixed-age team and confident communicating with all types of people Must be prepared to stay overnight occasionally in winter if Castleton is cut off (accommodation provided in one of our guest rooms) Computer literate Proficient in using social media platforms for marketing and customer engagement Comfortable with general kitchen prep and up-to-date Food Hygiene certification What will your role look like? Support the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the pub, caf, restaurant, and accommodation areas, ensuring smooth and efficient service Oversee general kitchen prep and assist the kitchen team as needed while upholding food hygiene and safety standards Help promote the business and attract new customers through marketing activities Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to minimise waste and ensure availability of supplies Greet customers, take orders, serve food and drinks, and make sure every guest feels welcome and well looked after Assist in managing budgets, controlling costs, and maximising profitability Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health and safety across all areas What can you expect in return?
