We provide technical expertise, governance, policy, guidance and support to the business units to provide a high quality service to their own people and their clients. Roles in the centre work closely with Executive team to shape and deliver our strategic goals but also partner with the business functions to embed the values, behaviours and strategic ambitions.The Role:The Senior Pensions Administrator will report to the Head of Payroll and Pensions and leads the company's pension scheme. The role involves attending trustee meetings, monitoring provider performance, applying pension legislation, and supporting auto-enrolment. The postholder also acts as the main contact for HR, Payroll, and The Pensions Regulator, drives process improvements, supports staff education on pensions, and ensures an excellent employee experience through accurate data and communication.Hybrid, but will be required to up to work 2 days a week in Birmingham Office and travel to other sites as requiredResponsibilities:As our Senior Pension Administrator:Responsible for ensuring Dakia in compliant in all aspects of pension:You will make changes to all pension related information contribution increases, new joiners, contractual increases ETC in our payroll system Midland HR working with the payroll team to identify any issues that will need resolvingYou will submit the files for payment undertaking key checks to ensure payments reconcile and work with Group Finance to ensure correct recharges to the Business Units each monthWork with our external pension administrators, this being Legal and General, Aviva, Local Government and several private pension schemes to ensure we update their systems correctly and create long term lasting relationshipsTo attend annual trustee meetings for our Legal and General Master Trust Defined Contribution SchemeTo monitor performance of Legal and General and alert Head of Payroll, Pensions and Rewards of any areas where SLAs are not achieved.To ensure we pay all contribution well ahead of statutory deadlines and escalate immediately where if there is an issueTo ensure we apply the auto enrolment and other pension legislation correctlyTo provide annual communication to all members (to be determined)In addition, you will be part of project team to educate our members in general pension issuesAct as the primary contact for HR and Payroll users to support in query resolution and training.Act as the primary contact for The Pension RegulatorWork in collaboration with the Payroll Management team to ensure changes to pensions applied to the payroll.Work closely with the HR Systems Team to utilise the functionality of the HR/ Payroll system fully.Work proactively to improve the process efficiencyEnsure employees have a great experience in all matters relating to PensionsEnsure the data within the Payroll systems is maintained and provides an accurate reflection of pension informationWorking Relationships (Internal):iTrent Systems Team and internal ITAll members of the Human Resources Team and Payroll Team.Primary internal contact for employees queries.Working Relationships (External):Pension Providers and consultancy supportSkills:Analytical: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Problem Solving: Able to identify a problem, define it, determine the root cause, identify possible solutions, and implement or escalate to senior managers as required.Time Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines to strict deadlines.Confidentiality: Demonstrates ability to handle confidential payroll information with discretion while maintaining employee privacy.Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with all levels of staff.Team Player: Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team within the payroll department.Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Behaviours: Professionalism: Demonstrates a high level of software and remains up to date with industry trends.Experience:A minimum of 2 years experience within a similar roleStrong knowledge of UK pension legislationExperience of working as part of project
