Procurement ManagerWe are working closely with a client in Poole to find a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to lead procurement strategies and activities in a growing and professional engineering manufacturer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing or engineering and demonstrate expertise in procurement management, supply chain systems, import processes, and budget management. This role requires a strategic thinker who can optimise supplier performance, cost, quality, and service levels while fostering long-term relationships both in the UK and abroad.Responsibilities as Procurement ManagerReview and enhance procurement strategy to optimise cost, quality, service levels, and supplier reliabilityLead the procurement team and all purchasing functions, including strategic, operational, and project purchasingProvide strategic direction to operational and strategic purchasing teams, which will include sourcing, selecting, and negotiatingSupport import processes and ensure compliance with international trade regulationsDevelop and implement procurement training programsSource global suppliers and manage the procurement life cycle, including new product introductionManage procurement team performance, development plans, and appraisalsDevelop and communicate a procurement business plan with long-term goalsWork closely with the Head of Corporate Purchasing to manage procurement strategy and ensure optimal supplier performance and costLead activities such as supplier evaluation, contract management, risk assessment, and long-term relationship buildingCollaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needsMonitor supplier performance and address any issues or concernsNegotiate contracts and terms with suppliersOversee the procurement process from sourcing to deliveryDevelop and nurture relationships with key suppliersLead and mentor the procurement team to ensure high performance and professional growthQualifications and experience as Procurement ManagerBackground in manufacturing or engineeringDemonstrable experience as a professional procurement manager or commodity managerKnowledge of supply chain systems, including VMI and Kanban, as well as MRP/ERP knowledgeAbility to develop and track budget performanceFamiliarity with lean initiatives and principlesExperience in developing and communicating a procurement business plan with long-term goalsStrong leadership and people management skillsBenefits as Procurement Manager£60 - £65k DOEPensionBonusOn site parkingInternational travel
