Helen Morgan MP and North Shropshire Liberal Democrats are looking for a Communications Officer to join their friendly team in North Shropshire.The successful candidate will be an excellent writer with strong social media skills who is keen to help Helen Morgan communicate with her constituents as effectively as possible.Past experience in media and/or politics is desired but all highly-motivated candidates with relevant skills will be considered.Key responsibilities:Work with colleagues in North Shropshire and Westminster to plan and implement effective communications campaignsProduce press releases, respond to enquiries and liaise with the mediaCreate and publish engaging social media content including videos and graphicsManage website and publication of letters and newslettersMonitor media coverageProvide briefings for the MPAttend meetings and visits when appropriateDraft responses to policy and campaign enquiriesPerson specification:Excellent written and oral communication skillsAn ability to hit tight deadlines while working independently or as part of a teamHighly motivated, well-organised, proactive, professional and reliableGood knowledge of British politics, the constituency, relevant media platforms and the work of an MPExperienced at effectively managing social media platformsCompetent editor of graphics and videosSympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Liberal Democrat partySalary: £23,810 - £28,000 depending on experienceLocation and hoursThe ideal candidate would work four days per week, but alternative hours will be considered.The position will be based within a lively and dynamic team in Wem.
