ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:Rooming patients and documenting all vital information Scribing information for the dermatologist Providing post-op wound care to patients Drawing blood and suture removal Cleaning and stocking exam rooms Scheduling patient appointments Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:Surgical photographs Biopsies – punch, DIF, and shave Excision procedures Electrodessication and curettage I&D (Incision and Drainage) Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery Phototherapy Injections KOH preps Trichograms Tzank preps Dermabrasion Patch testing Blue light therapy QualificationsEducation:Minimum post-high-school education in a medical support field: Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse.Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the Forefront Derm Tech certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and visitors Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work well both independently and in a team Forefront will never request personal information, such as your social security number or banking information, via text or email.
