Job Description for Security and Maintenance OperativeLocation:Manor Walks Shopping Centre Working Hours:40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 Pay Rate:£12.75 per hour Responsibilities:Maintain a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring premises. Perform daily cleaning and housekeeping duties to ensure high standards. Support the supervision of daily operations within the Centre. Ensure cleanliness standards are met and waste management is effective. Maintain welfare facilities and liaise with colleagues for smooth operations. Clean car parks using mechanical sweepers and manually brush edges and gutters. Inspect site streets, car parks, service roads, and public areas daily. Conduct all Health & Safety checks as directed by the Facilities and Centre Managers. Communicate safety practices and regulations effectively. Prevent and investigate disturbances, ensure security of access points, and restrict unauthorized entry. Report incidents and irregularities accurately; attend court or tribunals if required. Monitor and operate CCTV, Bodycams, and radio systems efficiently. Handle individuals acting anti-socially or under the influence courteously and escort them from the premises if necessary. Respond promptly to emergencies, liaising with emergency services and directing traffic as needed. Verify contractor permits before work commencement. Perform reception duties, including answering calls, logging visitors, and providing information. Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarms appropriately. Manage spillages and litter within the Centre. Adhere to health, safety, and security legislation and guidelines. Undertake additional duties related to general services as assigned.
