We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic legal professional to lead our Contracts & Commercial Team. This is a pivotal role within our Legal Services department, offering the opportunity to shape the delivery of high-quality legal advice across a wide range of commercial and governance matters. About the Role Contracts & Commercial Team Leader As Team Leader, you will: Lead and manage a busy team of legal professionals, ensuring efficient and cost-effective service delivery. Provide expert legal advice on complex commercial, procurement, and governance issues to both internal and external clients. Oversee a diverse caseload, including high-value contracts, company law matters, and strategic projects involving council-owned companies. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the team, fostering a collaborative and supportive working culture. About You We're looking for a confident legal leader who can hit the ground running. You should bring: Ability to demonstrate your experience in leading and developing legal teams, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Several years PQE as a solicitor or ' call to the Bar. Extensive experience in contract and commercial law ,ideally within or alongside the public sector. A strong understanding of procurement law and the Procurement Act 2023, company law, and the legal framework governing local authorities. Proven ability to manage complex legal issues independently and make sound, strategic decisions.
