This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to nearly every aspect of the finance function, creating a strong foundation for anyone looking to advance their accountancy career and pursue further qualifications. It offers hands-on experience with accounting procedures and financial reporting, along with the chance to engage with the wider Clarksons group.DescriptionKey responsibilities:Sole responsibility for the day to day running of the finance function posting of journals, allocating cash, managing the payment cycle to ensure prompt payment by clients and to suppliersSupporting sales operations, including but not limited to: client onboarding, ensuring compliance with both internal and external policies, invoicing and maintenance of the CRM and subscription management systemAssisting with the preparation and reporting of monthly management accounts for key stakeholders within the business as well as reporting to the groupRegular collaborating with finance teams across the group to reconcile transactions and resolving any ad-hoc queriesReviewing cost variances and key trends within monthly P&Ls investigating any adverse movementsHands-on ownership of month-end close process and accounting reconciliationsPreparation of annual financial statements and tax computationsInvolvement with annual budget, forecasting and pricing modelsSupporting management with continuous improvements to day-to-day proceduresProfile of ideal candidate:A current or recent graduate, or those with up to two years of accounting industry experienceStrong academic track record, with an understanding of accounting principles and double entry accountingBe a self-starter, with enthusiasm to learn and take a hands-on approach to workStrong organisational skills, ability to prioritise and work through daily tasks in a structured manner to meet deadlinesAccuracy and attention-to-detail, strong numeracy and literacyGood IT skills particularly Microsoft Excel, experience with accounting systems advantageous (Workday Financials)Have the ability to act on your own initiative and work as part of a teamHours:9.00am 5.30pmBenefits include: Free lunch in company canteen, 25 days holiday, season ticket loans, corporate gym membership, company pension, potential for sponsorship through a relevant qualification.Remuneration:28,000 - 32,000 + benefits depending on experienceClosing date: Friday 6th June, however, applications accepted immediatelyHow to apply - Send CV and Cover Letter to Apeksha Mehta at recruitment.crs@clarksons.com
