Job Description

This position is based at HMP Garth Preston, PR26 8NE. Job Summary Please refer to the detailed Job Description. Overview Job holders within this Group Profile will manage transactional activity within their administrative Hub, line manage staff, and apply HR policies and practices. Responsibilities include staff management, disciplinary investigations, performance management, and appraisals. This is a non-operational role with possible contact with prisoners depending on the area of work. Characteristics Typical Tasks Include: Develop local policies, procedures, and practices ensuring consistency Manage devolved budgets following financial procedures Achieve Service Delivery Indicators (SDIs) and standards, verifying documentation Participate in unit meetings to share best practices Analyze Hub data and produce reports Ensure accurate data entry within deadlines Monitor performance of the Hub Draft internal and external communications Provide management information to the Head of Function Manage staff performance, development, and absence Act as first point of contact for external stakeholders Handle requisitioner or approver roles per policy Job Descriptions The role is rotational, and the job holder may perform various roles such as: Hub Manager: People Hub Manager: Business Hub Manager: Offender Management Hub Manager: Activities Hub Manager: Regional People Wales Hub Manager: Learning and Capability Hub Manager: Safer Custody Hub Manager: Intelligence Essential Skills and Qualifications Post-training in the specific specialism is required. Essential skills include: Effective and assertive communication with staff at all levels Proficiency in MS Word and Excel Data collection and analysis Hours of Work 37 hours per week.
