Our mission, vision and values are to provide people-centric services that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve by working to achieve excellence in service delivery.South West London (SWL) DESP provides retinal screening clinics and image grading to people with diabetes in the boroughs of South West London. We are commissioned by Public Health England to provide retinal screening on behalf of the NHS and our service is compliant with the National Service Framework (NSF) and National Screening Committee (NSC) guidance, standards and objectives.An opportunity has arisen to join the South West London eye screening programme. Our screeners are at the heart of NEC Care, spending their time on the ground, helping our patients to live longer healthier lives. As one of our retinal screeners, you'll run local clinics to see our service users and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. We need you to be empathetic and able to talk to people about their health and eye images on a daily basis. In this role, you will be supported whilst undertaking training, but once that is completed will be working largely unsupervised in a sometimes pressured environment, so a cool head is essential!
