This is a full-time, permanent role within the Communications team, focused on increasing national media coverage and raising the organisations public profile in line with its strategic goals.Apply fast, check the full description by scrolling below to find out the full requirements for this role.Key responsibilities of the role:Develop and deliver proactive media plans to promote key organisational priorities across print, broadcast, online, and social mediaDraft high-quality press releases, articles, and statements to drive national media attention and showcase the organisations impactRespond promptly to media enquiries, including handling sensitive or critical coverage to protect and enhance the organisations reputationProvide strategic media advice and briefing materials to senior leadership, including key spokespeople and executivesContribute to the production of internal and external communications, including a member magazineBuild strong relationships with journalists, commentators, and media influencers to raise the organisations voice within the sectorWork closely with digital and social media colleagues to ensure consistent messaging across platformsMonitor media coverage, prepare regular impact reports, and identify opportunities for media engagementTake part in the out-of-hours media rota, providing responsive media handling support during evenings, weekends, and public holidaysIdeal candidate profile:Background in journalism, public relations, or media communications, ideally within a charity, health, or membership-based organisationDemonstrated experience of delivering PR campaigns and managing crisis communicationsExceptional writing skills and the ability to produce compelling content tailored to a variety of audiences and channelsConfident communicator who can advise senior stakeholders and represent the organisation to the mediaStrong understanding of the media landscape and how to generate positive coverageAble to manage multiple projects under pressure with attention to detail and clear prioritisationProactive, strategic thinker who brings creativity to campaign planning and executionComfortable collaborating across teams and departments to identify stories and share consistent messagingFamiliar with monitoring tools and evaluation of media impactLocation: Central London Salary: 39,000 Working hours: Full-time Working pattern: Hybrid Contract: PermanentThis vacancy is being actively shortlisted, so early applications are encouraged.
