Welding Engineer Position Summary The Welding Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of welding processes, procedures, and techniques to ensure the structural integrity and quality of welded components and assemblies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field. Professional engineering license or certification (e.g., Professional Engineer, Certified Welding Engineer). Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering, with a strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and metallurgy. Proficiency in reading and interpreting welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME, API). Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Develop and implement welding inspection and quality control plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications. Provide technical support and training to welding personnel, including welders, welding supervisors, and quality inspectors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to optimize welding-related aspects of product development and production. Stay up-to-date with the latest welding technologies, materials, and industry best practices, and incorporate them into the company's welding processes.
