Research Assistant in Virology, Faculty of Biological SciencesThis role will be based on the university campus. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements. About the RoleThe Whitehouse research group is seeking a highly motivated research assistant to investigate how the human tumour virus, Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV), manipulates host cell pathways to enhance its own replication. The project will utilize molecular, cell biology, and cell imaging approaches to uncover novel KSHV-mediated mechanisms regulating viral gene expression. QualificationsA first degree or Masters in Molecular Cell Biology, Virology, or a closely related discipline. Experience in culturing KSHV-infected B lymphocytes, understanding KSHV reactivation mechanisms, and assessing KSHV lytic replication.
