Job Description

The role of Business Data Analyst is a new role at Aldi GB/IE and the successful candidate will have a chance to help shape the processes and practices that comprise the role. The role sits within our Data Science team, which is one of the teams within our National Data & Analytics (NDA) department. The role sits within NDA but also works closely with IDA and the Mastercard team. ​Your New RoleA/B Testing (Test & Learn)You will be the main contact for A/B Testing, including acting as the owner for the Test & Learn system and process.Design, plan, coordinate, and implement tests and evaluate the impact of tests and communicate this to business stakeholders.You will define test hypotheses, develop experimental designs, and oversee the implementation of test variations in collaboration with relevant teams.Monitor test performance and analyse results using statistical techniques to identify significant insights and inform decision-making.Act as a contact point for the Test & Learn system and process, offering support to the business.Provide actionable recommendations based on A/B test findings to improve business outcomes and drive continuous optimisation efforts.AnalyticsConduct ad-hoc and planned pieces of analysis using data from several data sourcesRetrieve data from databases and data warehouses, but also raw data direct from source systemsAbility to analyse and visualize data with goal of telling a story, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.Present data-driven solutions to various types and levels of stakeholders from operational colleagues to exec/board level.You will use analytical techniques to solve complex business problems and deliver value for Aldi UK.Use Case SupportProvide general administrative, technical, and business partnering support for data science use cases.Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to understand business requirements, data availability, and feasibility of proposed use cases.You will develop detailed use case documentation, including objectives, scope, success criteria, and implementation roadmap.Working closely with data scientists and engineers to translate use case requirements into technical specifications and data models.Business PartneringYou will collaborate with stakeholders to identify data analytics use cases that align with organisational goals and strategic priorities.You will develop and deliver presentations, reports, and dashboards to communicate analytical findings and recommendations to business stakeholders.OtherYou will provide operational expert guidance and advisory to internal teams and business stakeholders on data analytics strategies and initiatives.You will work closely with Mastercard, IDA and other country Data Science teams to ensure alignment to global processes.About You Experience with, or knowledge of, A/B Testing.Experience with statistical analysis and using data for problem-solving.Experience presenting analytical work to various levels of business stakeholder from operational teams to Exec/board level.Experience working with data to solve business problems.SQL, PythonUnderstanding of data management Experience with stakeholder management, change management, and project management.Understanding of data architecture and systems.Experience with process documentation in the field of data and analytics.Data ScienceA/B TestingData Presentation / Data VisualisationData AnalysisProcess DocumentationStakeholder ManagementCommunicationTraining & User SupportSQL / PythonExperience with Mastercard APT / Test & Learn or similar A/B Testing systems or processes.Experience delivering financial impact through data science or analytical initiatives.Experience with various forms of data presentation and visualization.Understanding of statistical models and advanced analytics.Experiencing with data engineering - accessing data from various sources, not structured in a data warehouse.What you’ll get in ReturnSalary starting £53,780 rising to £61,950PermanentMonday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with the opportunity of 2 day a week remote working5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank HolidaysIn office flexi-timeFull training providedPension schemePrivate employee medical insurance after 4 yearsCompany sick pay schemeCompany maternity, paternity and adoption pay after 1 yearLong service rewardsAccess to MyBenefits, where you can find a wide range of benefits, including our bike to work scheme, shopping and cinema discounts, health cash plan, a FREE will, travel and discounted gym memberships, as well as a host of benefits to support your financial and wellbeing needsAccess to a free,24/7, confidential virtual GP service for all Aldi Colleagues and their children (under the age of 16)* You’ll need to live within 90 minutes of your main working location​Aldi is an equal opportunities employer.
