The Opportunity Contract Estimated Duration – 12 months This role has been deemed inside of IR35 We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer with proven experience in nuclear in-cell handler testing to join our team. Reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader, you will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of assigned commissioning tasks in line with project and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of nuclear mechanical systems commissioning and a proactive, safety-first mindset. You will play a key part in executing commissioning plans, reviewing performance, and ensuring integration with broader project processes. Your duties and responsibilities will be:Execute arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording, and assessing commissioning tests that may impact safetyDeliver commissioning work scope according to agreed strategies, plans, and budgetsChampion nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety throughout commissioning activitiesMonitor and review commissioning progress, identifying and implementing corrective actions where neededMaintain daily liaison with relevant stakeholders to obtain permissions and minimise project impactReview and assess commissioning test resultsProvide input across various project functions including design, HAZOP, risk management, contracting, estimating, and knowledge managementYou will have the following qualifications & experience:Demonstrable experience in nuclear mechanical systems commissioningProven track record in nuclear commissioning projectsMinimum HNC/HND in an engineering-related subject or equivalentWorking knowledge of project management principles (APM membership preferred)Proficiency in calculation production using Microsoft ExcelIOSH Managing Safely certificationRelevant industry/trade cardsSoftware and ToolsProficient in the latest Microsoft Office applicationsSecurity RequirementsMust be eligible to obtain BPSS and P4 Pass (continued employment is subject to achieving and maintaining this clearance)Get in touch now This is an opportunity to work on pioneering nuclear projects that make a real impact.
