If youre looking to join a business that values hard work, loyalty and ambition, youll feel right at home here.The RoleAs a Quantity Surveyor at Doocey Group, you will demonstrate effective commercial skills at framework and project level to deliver all aspects of commercial control, with a real focus on the management and reconciliation of cost and value. You will have in-depth and demonstrable experience of administering projects in accordance with the NEC3, NEC4 & JCT forms of contract within the Civil Engineering & Utilities sectors. You will be proficient in the development, award and administration of subcontracts.ResponsibilitiesConduct regular internal reporting through the CVR and internal commercial management proceduresConduct regular reporting to the client in accordance with the contract and the client periodical reporting proceduresEnsure cash flow is optimised through the development of activity schedules, the submission of monthly valuations and the control of subcontractor accountsDrive the recovery of outstanding monies and ensure all queries are fully resolved in a timely mannerIdentify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change eventsManage change events in accordance with the contract including early warnings, CE notification, CE quotation and through to CE implementation and inclusion into the new cost and programmer baselinesProduce cost estimates and subcontract enquiries for both tender proposals and compensation eventsEnsure the project delivery teams adhere to risk management procedures and financial complianceRecord the commercial key performance indicator data at project level and minimise any potential negative effect on your projectsMaintain the projects adherence to payment timescalesPrepare and manage sub-contracts throughout the project, through to Final Account agreementWork closely with the project delivery teams to enforce the business drivers and outcomes for your projectsMaximize profitability having regard to client and subcontractor relations, third party incomers and the companys strategic objectives regarding client relations and the risk/reward philosophyPersonal QualitiesExcellent attention to detail, problem solving, reading reports and accurately compiling relevant data from them. A commercially and contractually astute individual that takes ownership of their own and their teams performance.Demonstrable strong leadership skills, with the vision and ability to establish cross-functional relationships and drive cultural/organisational change.Proven exceptional interpersonal skills, possessing the ability to interact and maintain credibility with people at all levels across the organisation, up to and including Board level as well as with industry stakeholders.Proven strong influencing skills with the ability to direct and motivate to deliver through others.Excellent communication and presentation skills especially when dealing with Clients & Directors.Technical Skills & ExperienceMinimum 3 years experience working as a QS or Assistant QSExperience working on framework contractsExcellent knowledge of Commercial Contract Law (NEC Option A-E inc.
