When you join us as a Planning Manager, you’ll benefit from:Competitive salary & company performance bonusCompany car or allowance & free onsite parking!5* housebuilder - Be part of a company that consistently delivers quality homes and outstanding customer satisfactionLife Cover & Contributory PensionEmployee Benefits Platform – giving you access to high-street discounts, wellbeing support, and moreCommitted to diversity, inclusion, and empowering your developmentWhat is the role?The purpose of the role is to ensure the region provides a high standard of planning and development appraisals, planning applications, planning appeals and land promotion within the residential sector for both immediate and strategic sites.Primary ResponsibilitiesProduce site assessments, detailed examination of planning histories, policy analysis, interpretation and consideration of material considerations, and new site appraisals for immediate and strategic sites in good time to maintain the relationship with the Land team and protect the interests of the companyPrepare and project manage different types of planning applications from Outline/Full and Reserved Matters to the discharge of planning conditions accurately so that the Region can maintain new sites to developLiaise and brief internal layout designers, external consultants and officers at Local Planning Authorities prior, during and post submission in order to develop strong working relationshipsPrepare Design & Access Statements and a range of other planning documents required to support applications accurately and on time so the business can continue to gain positive planning consentsOrganise supporting information and attend required stakeholder/public consultation events with professionalism at all times to build confidence with the general publicFormulating planning strategies to promote medium and long term development sites through the plan-making process under the guidance of the Planning Manager to continue a pipeline of new sites for the regionEnsure that the team are allocated tasks, where quality of work will need to be verified to maintain it is completed to a good standard within company guidelinesGiven proven experience the role will involve mentoring and training junior members of the team and developing their skills to a sufficient level where they can take on more responsibility and add value to the team, thus improving productivity within the regionOn occasion provide assistance to the Managing Director when making key business decisions and attend regular regional meetings as the relevant subject expertWhat experience do I need?Degree / Masters Planning Degree with an RTPI accreditation and a rounded knowledge of planningAbility to adapt to change and to work accurately and efficiently under pressureExcellent verbal communication skillsFull UK driving licenceBefore submitting your application, please take a moment to review our privacy policy, which is available on our corporate website, which will detail how we will process your personal data.
