The Mechanical Assembly Technician will play a vital role in the assembly of UHV manipulation and sample handling sub-assemblies, ensuring high standards of quality and performance. This is a hands-on role suited to a detail-oriented professional with experience in mechanical and electrical assembly.Key Responsibilities:Assemble complex mechanical and electrical components to specification, ensuring precision and quality.Carry out specialist UHV-compatible wiring and electrical testing to support cleanroom standards.Maintain UHV clean processes for all vacuum components and sub-assemblies.Support the transition from prototype to production, including writing and updating manufacturing documents.Maintain detailed records including test data, quality control logs, and instrument serial tracking.Skills & Experience:Experience assembling UHV-compatible devices and instrumentation is highly desirable.Background in low-volume, customised product manufacturing preferred.Skilled in precision hand-fitting, specialist wiring, and product testing.Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.Proficient with basic IT tools including Microsoft Office.Qualifications:Engineering qualification (Degree, HND, HNC) in Mechanical or Electromechanical Engineering preferred.Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or time-served apprenticeship considered.Experience in cleanroom or high-tech manufacturing environments advantageous.Attributes:Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.Reliable, punctual, and resilient under pressure.Organised with a strong work ethic and a focus on quality.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mechanical Assembly Technician who thrives in a hands-on, high-spec engineering environment.
