Responsibilities: * Handle customer claims following insurance policies and company processes to ensure a great experience. * Investigate claims quickly and carefully to decide who is responsible and how much should be paid. Watch out for any suspicious or fraudulent cases. * Find smart and effective solutions to provide excellent service to third-party customers and help meet targets. * Manage your own cases well by keeping all records accurate and up to date. * Use your knowledge of claims and negligence to negotiate with other organisations and reach fair settlements. * Aim to resolve issues on the first contact, take full ownership of problems, and keep customers informed until everything is settled. * Accept and learn from feedback to improve your skills and support your team’s growth. * Work closely with claims suppliers and build strong partnerships that support company goals. * Suggest and apply agreed solutions to cases, aiming to meet or exceed service standards and reduce risks and losses. * Support the claims team in delivering excellent customer service and ongoing improvements, following fair treatment principles. * Action and resolve any escalated customer complaints providing feedback to handlers, suppliers or other departments where needed. * Communicate well with other departments to manage claims issues properly. * Always follow the rules and regulations set by the FCA and other legal or risk management requirements. Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications: * Knowledge of Motor Claims (highly beneficial) * Understanding of the FCA regulatory regime, FOS ethos and TCF initiatives * Ability to plan and organise own workload * Sound negotiation and influencing skills * Good level of both verbal and numerical reasoning, analytical, objective, solves problems by developing and applying solutions * Proficient in using IT word processing and spreadsheet packages * Understanding of the principles of negligence and how this applies to motor accident liability.
