Working in a dynamic, fast-moving food business environment, this role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, resilient, and commercially sharp, with a proven ability to manage major UK retail accounts. This is a high-visibility role with great scope: you’ll handle both the day-to-day running of the account and play a key part in shaping and delivering long-term commercial strategy. What You’ll Be Doing Take ownership of a key retail customer, managing daily operations while developing medium-to-long-term account strategies. Manage all elements of the account including pricing, forecasting, customer admin, promotions, and commercial performance tracking. Lead and participate in regular customer calls Maintain close working relationships with processors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment. Track key performance indicators and use data to support category performance, margin improvement, and promotional effectiveness. Support business planning, demand forecasting, and innovation pipelines in collaboration with internal NPD and operations teams. Regularly engage with retail buying teams, building strong, trust-based relationships. Skills & Experience Essential: Proven account management experience with Tesco or another Top 4 UK retailer. Strong working knowledge of the meat or chilled/fresh/frozen protein categories (poultry, fish, dairy etc.). Excellent commercial acumen, pricing understanding, and P&L accountability. Hands-on, can-do attitude, happy to manage commercial admin while also delivering on high-level strategy. Confident dealing with suppliers/processors and understanding supply chain pressures. Experience working in a fast-paced, change-heavy environment where resilience is key. Excellent Excel and reporting skills; able to analyse and present commercial data clearly.
