If you are prepared to deliver evidence based change to implement clinical service delivery, this role will provide you with a rare and exciting career opportunity to be part of our new service implementation.We are looking for an exceptional Psychologist to join our new specialist acute inpatient service for people with learning disabilities and autistic people.Alongside the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in establishing a culture of learning, continuous evaluation and compassion, with co-production at the heart of this.Your role will include leading on aspects of implementation and delivery under the supervision of the Consultant Psychologist. This is anticipated to include, for example, developing and evaluating a trauma-informed, therapeutic culture, individual and group psychological treatment approaches, and training, interventions and support for the wider system.You will provide leadership and supervision to other members of the psychological therapies team and wider service as appropriate, and take a lead role in service improvement, audit and research in line with, and contributing to, national guidance. There will also be an expectation to supervise trainee/student placements and research to facilitate the development of the evidence base.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will ensure and oversee the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation and intervention within the inpatient service. This will include the delivery of specialist individual, group and systemic intervention, as well as providing consultation, interventions and training for carers and staff.They will provide supervision to other members of the psychological therapies service and wider team as appropriate.They will also be expected to make significant contributions to service design, audit and research. To lead an entirely autonomous and systematic, specialist area of responsibility within the Clinical Psychology service for autistic people and people with learning disabilities at the Kingfisher inpatient service.2. To offer an entirely autonomous highly specialist clinical psychology assessment and treatment service.3. To provide specialist consultancy, advice and clinical supervision to qualified clinical psychology staff and staff from other professions.4. To provide an advanced and specialist treatment role utilising highly specialist knowledge and training in appropriate evidence-based psychological models (e.g. CBT, EMDR, DBT, PBS).5. To undertake management tasks as delegated by the Senior management team including caseload, supervision, appraisals and service development.6. To undertake relevant research, teaching and lecturing in specialist clinical areas.A. CLINICAL1. To offer an entirely autonomous highly specialist clinical psychology assessment and treatment service through the psychology service.2. To support the full implementation of the care programme approach in the multidisciplinary team or equivalent where appropriate.3. To provide supervision and consultancy to service/LDU staff with regard to problem assessment and formulation, and therapy interventions.4. To participate in clinical supervision and caseload supervision arrangements provided by the psychology service.5. To provide an advanced and specialist treatment role in the service/ LDU as agreed with the service manager.6. To carry out specialist assessments as requested e.g. assessing referrals into the inpatient service.7. To undertake RCA's/ investigations as appropriate to the service.B. MANAGEMENT1. To maintain and further develop high standards of Clinical Psychology practice, through co-operative work with other Clinical Psychologists and peer supervision.4. CLINICAL GOVERNANCE1. To support the Manager/professional lead in the development and implementation of effective Clincal Governance across the Psychology Service.2. To supervise Clinical Psychology trainees and qualified psychologists/psychological therapists.2. To offer training in Psychological approaches to healthcare to other staff in the multidisciplinary team and to staff from other parts of the service.3. To provide expert lectures, seminars and workshops as necessary locally and across the SBU.4. To lecture on the Doctoral Clinical Psychology training courses.5. To agree a plan for personal development with the psychology line manager and participate in annual review.F. SERVICE DEVELOPMENT1. To advise the Service manager/ triumvirate about service priorities and potential developments in the sector.2.
