A mission-driven scale-up in Edinburgh is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (ideally Full Stack, or with a strong focus on front-end) to join their hybrid team. This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful, real-world products that help tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time: climate change.Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.Theyre building technology for a more sustainable future youll be developing and improving platforms that are used in real-time by thousands of people across the UK and potentially even by yourself (if not already!).Youll be joining a small, high-calibre team working across a modern stack ReactJS, Python, Postgres, AWS, Terraform, Kafka (and more) with plenty of say in both what gets built and how its built. Theres no heavy hierarchy or endless red tape here engineers are trusted to own problems end-to-end.While most engineers here work across the full stack, this role leans more toward the frontend so experience designing clean, efficient, and user-friendly interfaces in Reactjs will go a long way. That said, they care far more about curiosity, collaboration, and the drive to pick things up when needed than about experience with their entire tech stack.What theyre hoping youll bring:Strong commercial experience with Reactjs Ideally some experience with Python (or a similar programming language)Experience with cloud services (ideally AWS, but Azure or GCP are fine too)A solid approach to software testingtheres no separate QA teamA product mindsetyoure curious, collaborative, and take ownershipBonus points for:Cloud-native tools like Docker, Terraform, or strong CI/CD knowledgePrevious experience in a startup or scale-upTechnical leadership or experience driving projectsTheir new offices are based in central Edinburgh, and they support hybrid working youll typically be in the office three days a week, but theres some flexibility around that. They're also open to relocators and can sponsor visas for the right person.Salary-wise, theyre open to a wide range from 50k up to 85k (with scope for more)depending on experience with share options and a benefits package to match.
