.NET Azure Technical LeadReference number #2083The OpportunityWe are recruiting for a Technical Lead to design and build one of our leading greenfield products. You will play a strategic role in the architecture of the system including the front-end applications, backend services and databases. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud computing and modern .NET development, as well as demonstrable experience designing cloud applications. You should have a positive attitude and excellent communication skills to effectively share your knowledge.Duties and responsibilitiesThe .NET Azure Technical Lead is responsible for the following:Collaborate with the Cloud Architect to execute the cloud strategy as part of the software development processProvide architectural and technical expertise, direction, and assistance to the software development teamDesign, document, and implement changes to the system’s architecture to meet long-term business needsEnsure that the existing system’s architecture is aligned with organisational goals and objectivesDevelop product functionalities as part of a Scrum development teamAnalyse business and functional requirements for distillation into technical specificationsRespond to technical issues in a professional and timely mannerAct as a mentor providing guidance to all team members on technical and architectural issuesEnsure that the applications meet IES’ DevSecOps programme security requirementsCoordinate and lead application production releasesThe CandidateThe .NET Azure Technical Lead should have the following:Essential:At least 6 years of hands-on experience in software development, preferably in Agile/Scrum teamsExtensive knowledge in .NET (Core 3.1 and newer), Azure, Docker, relational and non-relational databasesDemonstrated experience as a technical leaderHands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysisExperience designing and documenting software architecturesExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentEffective communication skills (written and verbal)Desired:Experience working with Azure DevOps and gitExperience working with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) would be beneficialExceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to conduct research into emerging technologies and trendsAbility to prototype as a result of researchAbility to present ideas in audience-appropriate languageAbility to manage business and technical relationships with internal clientsThe RewardsYou will have the opportunity to develop your career in a supportive environment, while contributing to our goal of decarbonising the built environment.
