SHEQ AdvisorLocation: NorfolkA variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.Job Description:Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team based in Norfolk. This position involves supporting high-security civils projects, requiring occasional travel to assist other sites as necessary. Key Responsibilities: Conduct audits and inspections to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with SHEQ standards. Offer guidance and support to management and teams on SHEQ issues, including creating and implementing site-specific policies. Manage permitting and inspections, ensuring all documentation is accurately completed. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, developing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Coordinate SHEQ training to ensure team readiness for safe operations. Monitor and report on key SHEQ performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement. Ideal Candidate Profile: Holds IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications (or is working towards them). Qualified in SMSTS (Units 1-3). Experience in utility or construction site environments with strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations. Preferred qualifications include Lifting Operations accreditation. Skilled in preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and incident reports. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Physically fit and detail-oriented, capable of managing responsibilities under pressure.
