Contract:1x permanent, part-time position, 18 hours per weekLocation Base:160 Dundee Street, Edinburgh, EH11 1DQWho We Are Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers, and families, campaign for the rights of people with dementia, and fund vital dementia research.What You’ll Do There are approximately 8,464 citizens living with dementia in Edinburgh, including around 300 under the age of 65. Would you like to make a difference to the lives of younger people living with dementia in Edinburgh?Your role involves supporting individuals to achieve good outcomes, stay connected to their communities, engage in interests and hobbies, and access peer support. You will use your own car to help people get around (mileage and expenses paid).Working with the Registered and Commissioned Services/Community Connections team, you will ensure services are of high quality and meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for therapeutic, person-centred support. You will work with the team and Day Services Manager to ensure safe practice, high-quality service delivery, and compliance with policies. You will contribute to quality improvement, internal audits, and inspections.You may operate within a building-based Day Care or deliver Community Groups and Outreach services across an area. Sometimes, you will work independently in the absence of the Day Services Manager.You will help ensure services meet Alzheimer Scotland’s Quality Guarantees, Scotland’s Health and Social Care standards, and other relevant frameworks, focusing on personal outcomes for attendees.What You’ll Have The ideal candidate will have experience working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families, understanding the importance of therapeutic activities, evaluation, and quality assurance.You should have knowledge of the Health and Social Care Standards, SSSC codes of practice, and the role of the Care Inspectorate in registered services.Understanding of dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and Brain Health, along with experience in supporting people with dementia, is essential.You must have a recognised professional qualification in health, social work, or a related field at SCQF Level 6 (SVQ 2).This position requires a full driving licence and access to a car.For a full job description and person specification, please see the attachments section of this advert.The successful candidate must provide proof of right to work in the UK and will be subject to a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland.We reserve the right to close this advert early if a suitable candidate is found.#J-18808-Ljbffr
