It is one of four highly specialised craniofacial centres in the UK, one of seven specialist units for cleft lip & palate surgery. It is a tertiary referral centre for neurosurgery and the unit is recognised for ground-breaking work in ophthalmology surgery. Other specialities include ENT, Maxilla-Facial and children (general surgery & orthopaedics). This Band 6 position sits with the Ophthalmology and ENT Scrub team. Main duties of the jobWe have one Band 6 scrub vacancy within our JR Theatre department Develop the ability to work effectively at a more senior level, Develop the ability to make effective decisions based on all available information and guide the rest of the theatre team to deliver high quality care to our patients, Develop negotiating and motivational skills, Actively participate in the development of yourself and other staff (includes the appraisal process, sickness management of your team members to a certain degree, participation in clinical auditing), Ability to analyse audits, incident reports and risk, taking appropriate action to remedy, Has specialist knowledge across a range of surgical specialities and desirable that you have at least 3 years experience Act as a resource for the development and implementation of LocSSIPs, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures Supports the evaluation and implementation of Trust, Divisional and Directorate Quality Priorities, Manage change effectively, establishing appropriate goals and delivering change in a realistic time frame (problem solving), Acts as a role model for professional values and behaviours and supports other staff in their learning and education, Ability to develop and demonstrate leadership skills.
