The main objective of the Managing Director is to lead and grow the companys operations within the local horticulture sector, ensuring efficient day-to-day management and long term market development. The role focuses on strategic decision-making to enhance market positioning, drive sales and manage project installations. Additionally the managing director is responsible for building strong relationships with clients and stakeholder, overseeing financial performance and leading a small team of technicians. The ultimate aim is to achieve sustainable growth, develop close collaboration with the Dutch headquarters and ensure high customer satisfaction. Tasks and responsibilities: Operational Management: oversee daily business operations, including planning, personnel management and efficient execution of installation projects; Market Development: identify and capitalize on opportunities within the not just local horticulture sector. Conduct market analysis in collaboration with the Dutch headquarters to make strategic decisions that strengthen the market position; Commercial Focus: Build and maintain relationships with local customers, suppliers and stakeholders. Provide solutions-oriented advice to drive sales, with a focus on both new and existing clients; Project Management: Lead installation projects independently to ensure successful delivery. Coordinate larger projects with the Dutch headquarters to ensure smooth collaboration; Financial Managment: Responsible for budgeting, financial monitoring and profitability of operations. Reports performance to the Dutch headquarters on a regular basis; Team Leadership: Manage and motivate a small team of technicians and installers, including recruitment, training and employee development. The Managing Director will closely work together with the Finance Director of CMW Horticulture and report to the CEO of Bosman van Zaal in the Netherlands. The Managing Director will work from the office based in South Cave (East Riding of Yorkshire) and will regularly travel throughout the United Kingdom. What do we ask? Technical background, preferaby a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related fiel; Excellent command of English. Dutch is a plus but not required; Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within horticulture or a related technical industry; Relevant experience with managing installation projects and client interaction; Ability to motivate and lead a team and realize optimal performance; A strong entrepreneurial mindset, able to develop the company to the next level; Strong communication skills, both internally within the team and externally with customers, suppliers and the headquarters in the Netherlands; Strong problem solving skills and able to independently identify and resolve operational and technical challenges; Capable to understand the UK horticulture sector and able to build a local network; Personal characteristics: independent and pro-active, adaptable, strong customer focus, team builder, can communicatie with different stakeholders, combines a helicopter view with good operational skills.
